Growing up, Ryan played soccer, basketball, and baseball before transitioning to distance running, where he was the Captain of D1 Fairfield University Cross Country. Team sports provided him an opportunity to create lifelong friendships with coaches and teammates and to develop leadership skills, creativity, critical thinking, and resilience.
Ryan worked with Griffin Health alongside the Connecticut Department of Public Health to improve health initiatives in socioeconomically vulnerable communities, with a focus on Covid-19 testing and vaccination access. Off the ice, Ryan is a 1st year medical student at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University hoping to pursue a career in sports medicine.
